Earnest Brown was a standout basketball player at Dougherty High School in Albany, Georgia.  While at Dougherty High, Earnest received numerous awards and accolades.  After graduating from Dougherty High School, Earnest received a full athletic scholarship to attend Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.  Earnest played two basketball seasons at Auburn University before deciding to transfer to Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.  After playing basketball for two seasons at Mercer University, Earnest received his degree in Sociology. 


After graduating, Earnest decided to attend Valdosta State University and pursue his Master’s Degree in Public Administration.  While at Valdosta State, Earnest was a graduate assistant basketball coach.  For the first time, Earnest was able to learn more about the game of basketball from the perspective of a coach.  After returning to Albany, Earnest assisted the Albany State University men’s basketball team for a season.  Earnest earned his Educational Doctorate Degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2009.  In 2009, Dr. Brown was selected as one of the area’s Top 40 under 40 by the Albany Herald.  In 2015, he was selected as one of 10 City of Albany's Community Heros. 


Today, Dr. Earnest Brown is employed by Albany State University and is heavily involved in youth sports.  Through the Albany Elite Sports Program, Earnest is committed to providing the youth with the knowledge that he has gained throughout his career.
